Cas Pollen
Cas Pollen is a designer working in the unique field of Verre Eglomise, the process of gilding precious metals on the reverse side of clear glass, creating a soft mirrored effect.
Her degree in Decorative Arts at City and Guilds London Art School lead her on to apprenticeships in both restoration and gilding.
The beauty of this ancient medium is that it can be used to enliven any clear glass surface with a luminous, etheral quality, dramatically transforming the surrounding space.
Cas uses a full range of traditional and modern techniques for gilding on glass. With years of experience and experimenting with different metals and oxides, she has developed her craft and created new ways of using these techniques to accommodate her different designs.
Cas who has specialised most of her working life in Verre Eglomise, will be showing some of her glass samples and a mirrored glass installation in her studio at Queensrollahouse.
